Emily Burse, also known as Ms. Fergie to her friends and students, has been dancing for 16 years. From an early age, Emily learned to love all styles of dance so she began competing at the age of 3 years old, and joined the Wright Step Xtreme Team family at age 12.

Over the years Emily has trained in Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Tap, Contemporary, Tumbling, and Hip Hop. Emily has been a part of various performances throughout the Polk County area, been awarded several scholarships, and earned numerous overall solo, trio, and group placements both regionally and nationally. Emily has most recently won the title of the 2025 Tap Solo Showdown Champion at Shake the Ground Nationals.

Emily has had the opportunity to student teach under the guidance of Mrs. Bekah, Mrs. Linda, and Mrs. Amy for the past three years, and she looks forward to taking on classes of her own for the 2025 season! In addition to her passion for dancing, she has obtained a bachelors degree in Supervision and Management, and is continuing her education through Southeastern University’s MBA program.

Emily is known for her unwavering dedication, leadership, and deep sense of responsibility in every aspect of her life.
